Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji honoured at civic reception in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Udupi Puttige Mutt Seer Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji was honoured at a civic reception  organised under the aegis of Sri Krishna Mitra Mandali at Sri Krishnadhama in Saraswathipuram on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Scholar Ramanachar said that the achievements of the Seer is well worth celebrating his (Seer) birthday as ‘Sri Sugunatheertha Day’ across the globe.

Noting that the Seer is often called as ‘Abhinava Vivekananda’, Ramanachar said that the Seer is like a mobile Bhagavad Gita. Pointing out that the Swamiji is well-versed in Kannada, Tulu, Hindi and English, he said that the Seer’s discourses in English has gained worldwide popularity.

Former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, who too spoke, said that the Seer has dedicated himself for guiding Indians settled abroad on carrying forward the richness of Indian culture and traditions.         The Seer must be credited for making the Hindus raise their head with pride across the globe, he added.

Writer Kabbinale Vasanth Bharadwaj, Sri Krishna Mitra Mandali President Ramesh, Krishna Trust Vice-President Ravishastri, P.S. Shekar, Padmanabha Achar and others were present.
