Mysuru: Strongly condemning the reinstatment of Srirampura Gram Panchayat (GP) PDO Hanumantharaju, who is facing various corruption charges, 31 members of Srirampura GP and a TP member began a demonstration in front of Srirampura GP office here this morning.
Alleging that Hanumantharaju, who was transferred following corruption charges, has returned to Srirampura GP using his political clout, the protestors demanded his immediate suspension.
Even as the GP members continued to protest, Mysuru TP EO Lingaraju visited the spot and tried to convince the agitators in vain.
The members said that they would continue with the dharna until PDO Hanumantharaju was suspended. GP Vice-President Usha and TP member Yoga Srinivas led the protest.
