Mysore/Mysuru: The artistes of Rangabhoomi Trust Kodagu will be staging the play ‘Nijamahatma Babasaheba’ on Jan.8 at Kiru Rangamandira in city. It is the 25th show of the play, conceived and directed by former Director of Rangayana Mysuru Addanda C. Cariappa.
Cariappa told media persons at Patrakarthara Bhavan in the city that tomorrow at 10.30 am, the play will be enacted specially for women, while at 6 pm, the play will be staged for public.
Former MLA B. Harshavardhan and Dr. Shushrutha Gowda will be the chief guests.
Cariappa alleged that, Congress has buried many truths about Dr. Ambedkar, which will be brought to light in the play. Despite the hurdles faced in several parts of the State, the play has seen its successful run.
During partition, Ambedkar had succinctly argued that if Pakistan is carved out, the Muslims in the country should go there and Hindus in that country should return to India. He had even visited RSS camps and had appreciated its activities. Likewise, the play has been shedding light on many truths, only to face wraths at several places.
The 24 shows of the plays so far were staged to full house. After Mysuru, the play will be staged at North Karnataka, with preparations being made to stage the play at Delhi and Mumbai afterwards, he added.
Trustee of Rangabhoomi Trust Anitha Cariappa, patrons Prof. Shashikala Ramachandradev, Homma Manjunath, artistes Likhit Kumar and Manoj were present at the press meet.
