Staging of play ‘Shariff’ at Mini Theatre on June 16

Mysuru: The city’s Nalwadi Social, Cultural and Educational Trust will be performing the play ‘Shariff’ in commemoration of late Rangayana Director Lingadevaru Halemane at the Mini Theatre (Kiru Rangamandira) in Kalamandira premises here at 6.30 pm tomorrow (June 16).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, writer Nanda Halemane said that the play is scripted by Manjunath Belakere and directed by Dinesh Chammalige.

The play, which is of one-and-a-half hour duration, will see the usage of Shariff’s 19 padas. A total of 35 artistes will be part of the play, she said and added that the entry fee is Rs. 50 per head.

She further said that B.M. Ramachandra of Rajeshwari Vastralankara will inaugurate the programme. Senior Theatre artiste Jayaram Tatachar and Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Channappa will be the chief guests.
