State Camp of Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan at VLEAD

Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) will be hosting the State Camp of Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) on Feb.19 (Sunday) at Vivekananda Institute for Leadership Development (VLEAD), Mysuru.

The State Camp will have a variety of assessment formats including written tests, experiments, video appreciation and situational problem analysis. Twelve students selected in the State Camp will be participating in the National Camp at Delhi in May 2017.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan is a National-level talent search exam, organised by Vigyan Prasar, Vijnana Bharati and NCERT, to popularise science and identify and nurture talented students from across the community.

Nearly 1 lakh students in classes 6 – 11 participated in the written exam across the country in November 2016. The top 120 students, 20 per class, from each State were selected for the State Camp. In Karnataka, over 3,400 students took the written exams in 38 centres across the State.

The camp will end with prize distribution ceremony at 4pm. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Director, Defence Food Research Laboratory, Mysuru will be the chief guest along with Dr. Arvind Ranade, National Convener of VVM and a scientist in Vigyan Prasar and Chandrasekharan Nair, CEO of Vijnana Bharati.
