Mysuru District Unit Office-bearers of SDPI announced

Mysuru: Accusing the State Congress Government of failing democracy by not holding local body elections, SDPI (Socialist Democratic Party of India) State Unit General Secretary Ibrahim Majid Tumbe maintained that the Congress Government lacked the guts to take on the IT Cell of the BJP.

He was speaking at a meeting of District Representative Council of the party organised at a private hotel here on Sunday.

Stating that the Minority community was a happy lot when the Congress came to power 20 months ago, Ibrahim said that, however, confusion still persists on whether a secular atmosphere has been in existence in the State since then.

“A review of the Congress Government shows that the Government is moving in the opposite direction. The State Government is a U-turn Government and the Government has not been able to take a firm decision on Hijab issue. It has also failed to introduce inner-reservation and has been unable to address violence and atrocities concerning beef. The Congress seems to be fooling the Minorities as can be seen by its actions,” he said and accused the State Government of registering cases against SDPI members even for small things or incidents.

SDPI City Unit President Rafat Khan, in his address, said that the country needed a strong alternative right now. It is only the SDPI which can launch a nationwide movement for bringing about a change, he added. Noting that there are a lot of problems in the country, he said that the SDPI members will not think or plan sitting in houses. The SDPI will be always amongst the people in resolving or addressing their problems, Rafat Khan added.

The following were announced as District Unit Office-bearers (2024-27) of SDPI at the meeting: President – Rafat Khan, Vice-Presidents – S. Swamy and Mohammad Shafiullah, General Secretaries – M.N. Firdose and Syed Azim, Secretaries – Ayesha Zubi, Fardeen and Akbar Hunsur, Treasurer – Mansoor Khan, Committee Members – J. Mahadeva, Moulana Nooruddin Farooqui, Mansoor Ahmed (Medical), Tabraiz Sait, Suhail Atif, Zabeena Banu, Mohammad Waseem and Amjad Hussain.

SDPI State Unit Vice-President Devanur Puttananjaiah, General Secretary Mujahid Pasha, Secretary Moulana Akram and other office-bearers were present.
