State Government hikes DA

Mysore/Mysuru: The State Government has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners by 11 percent with effect from July 1. The order was issued by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, said Shadakshari, President, Karnataka State Government Employees Association, yesterday.

Based on the memorandum submitted by the Association, the CM directed the Finance Department to issue an order and to approve the increase in DA that had been held up since the beginning of this year due to the Covid pandemic. The Association had appealed to the Chief Minister to release the DA hike in three instalments.

The new order will help six lakh State Government employees and 4.5 lakh pensioners along with three lakh staffers working with various Boards and Corporations, he added.

It may be mentioned here that the Government of India had hiked the DA by 11 percent for its employees recently.
