Bengaluru: In a first, the State Government has approved a proposal to introduced ‘Guided Tour’ for public at Vidhana Soudha on public holidays.
Currently, visitors are allowed to view Vidhana Soudha from the outside and take photographs. Through the guided tour, the State Government aims at providing an opportunity for the visitors to experience the rich history, heritage and architecture of the building.
While entry fees to the guided tour is yet to be announced, sources said that the Government has instructed the concerned authority to ensure the entry fee to be affordable for all.
The guided tours on public holidays will be from 8 am to 6 pm. Visitors will have to present a valid official identification at the entry and should follow the security protocols issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vidhana Soudha Security).
The Government has also instructed to ensure that cleanliness was maintained at Vidhana Soudha and has banned the usage of drones, eatables and plastic items. Tourists will not be allowed to park their vehicles around Vidhan Soudha.
The authorities will also install signages after the tour map is finalised after getting the clearance from the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR).
