State-level debate contest on quality of education held

Mysuru:  A State-level debate contest on ‘Professional Competence of teachers is vital to improve quality of education in schools’ was organised by Kaginele Kanakaguru Peetha Shikshana Mahavidyalaya at its premises on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempunagar here yesterday.

About 50 B.Ed students from various colleges in Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu and Hassan participated. Speaking on the occasion, Kaginele Institutions Hon. Secretary M. Puttabasavegowda opined that every language was important and added that a debate in one’s own language will be effective and more meaningful. He asked the participants to come out with constructive suggestions to improve quality of education which could be easily advocated in the system.

The event was inaugurated by Prashanthi, HoD of Kannada, Jayachamarajendra PU College, Visweshwaranagar. Principal Dr. K.K. Vishalakshi, Alumni Association convenor Dr. S.M. Sharath Kumar and others were present.
