State-level Elocution Contest

September 9, 2023

Every year Sept. 11 is celebrated as Digvijay Divas as that was the day Swami Vivekananda gave the world-famous speech in 1893 at Chicago in the World’s Parliament of Religions. Swami Vivekananda conquered the world on this day with his spirituality in practice and that too at a time when India was not even independent. It was for the first time that the message of Universal Brotherhood and its proper understanding was given to the western world.

Rashtrabharathi Charitable Trust, Mysuru, has organised a State-level Elocution Contest at Gopalaswamy Shishu Vihara near Nanjumalige Circle here on Sept. 10 at 10 am for PU, Degree and PG students. Students can speak about Digvijay Divas in Kannada or English language. Five plus one minute time will be given for each contestant. Winners will be given Rs. 5,000 (first), Rs. 3,000 (second), Rs. 2,000 (third) and Rs. 1,000 (consolation) cash prizes. For details, contact C.K. Rudramurthy on Mob: 99168-21631 or H.B. Satish on Mob: 96638-82250, according to a press release.
