A State-level Pre-University (PU) Gymnastics Sports meet organised by Department of PU Education in association with Vijaya Vittala PU College, Saraswathipuram, Mysuru was held at Mysore University Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.
Inaugurating the event, Mysore University Physical Education Director Dr. C. Krishnaiah contended that youths would derive great benefits by participating in sports. He said that sportspersons could get into Government jobs under the sports quota.
Vijaya Vittala Educational Institutions (VVEI) Chairman R. Guru was the chief guest. DDPUE Dr. B.N. Nagarathna presided. District Principals’ Association President S.M. Tulasidas, Treasurer V. Nagaraj, District PU Physical Education Lecturers’ Association President K.M. Kantharaju, VVEI Hon. Secretary R. Vasudev Bhat, College Principal H. Satyaprasad and others were present.
Students of Bengaluru Southern Region won the overall champion trophy. In the Individual category Uday C. Naidu and Kushi G. Jain emerged winners.
