Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities tomorrow
Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled (JSS PDA), Mysuru, in association with the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA), Bengaluru and The Association of People with Disability (APD), Bengaluru, is organising a three-day inclusive programme from Jan. 29 to 31.
Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan in city this morning, JSS PDA Principal B. Elangovan said that a one-day Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) will be held tomorrow (Jan. 29) from 9 am to 4 pm, providing opportunities for PwDs to interact with inclusive employers and explore employment options.
More than 10 employers and over 200 differently abled candidates are expected to participate.
The State-level Science Expo and Open Day will be conducted on Jan. 30 and 31, showcasing over 50 innovative projects by differently abled students from across the State. The best projects will receive cash prizes, certificates and mementoes, while all participants will receive certificates. Cultural programmes, fun games and a food court will also be part of the Open Day.
The Science Expo and Open Day will be inaugurated on Jan. 30 at 11 am by B. Sadashivaprabhu, Director, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru.
Dr. B. Suresh, Pro-Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER) and Director, Technical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, will be the chief guest. Amshi Prasanna Kumar, Senior Journalist, Mysuru, will be the guest of honour.
The valedictory function will be held on Jan. 31 at 4 pm. Dr. K.G. Basava Kumar, Joint Director, Technical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, will be the chief guest.
Lion S. Murthy, Chairman, Deaf Association, Mysuru and Vice-President, Karnataka State Chess Association, will be the guest of honour.
B. Elangovan, Principal, JSS PDA, Mysuru, will preside.
Around 2,500 participants, including NGO representatives, parents, employers, alumni, special school students and the general public, are expected to attend the event.
