State-level Senior Men’s Kho-Kho Championship begins in city

Mysuru: Sports is one activity that develops discipline and patience in one’s life, said MLA T.S. Srivatsa here yesterday.

He was speaking after inaugurating the State-level Senior Kho-Kho Championship-2026 for Men jointly organised by Karnataka Amateur Kho-Kho Association and Mysuru District Amateur Kho-Kho Association in memory of late N. Prakash, former President of Karnataka Amateur Kho-Kho Association, at Vivekananda Grounds in Kuvempunagar. Stating that sports was a medium that united everyone together, Srivatsa said, he was elated to witness players from various parts of the State taking part in the Championship.

Srivatsa, recalling the recently held Blind Cricket Tournament for women, expressed that the cricketers had displayed exemplary talent and spirit.

A total of 10 teams are taking part in the Kho-Kho Championship. The teams have been divided into 3 groups among which the top two teams will qualify for the next stage. Karnataka Amateur Kho-Kho Association will also select State senior men’s team for the National-level during the State Championship.

Mysuru District Amateur Kho-Kho Association President Nagaraj V. Bairy, Senior Vice-Presidents C.S Manjunath & N. Jeevendra Kumar, Vice-Presidents B. Subramanya, H.R. Bhagavan & N. Ashok, Treasurer Sandesh Prakash, Karnataka Amateur Kho-Kho Assn. Secretary Chinnamurthy & Joint Secretary C.F. Jadar were present.
