‘State tops country in attracting investment’

Mysuru: With an investment of Rs. 177 lakh crore, the State has regained the top position in the country in industrial investment, relegating Gujarat with Rs. 86 lakh crore to second position, said Additional Chief Secretary K. Ratna Prabha.

She was speaking after inaugurating the Women Industry and Business Empowerment (WIBE) Institution and training camp for women at Hotel Pai Vista, here this morning and said, “I had worked in the industries department before and wanted to come back to the department again. Many of my male colleagues had opposed it as they felt that a woman will not be able to deliver in what is supposed to be a male domain.”

“However, the Chief Minister reposed trust in me and asked me to develop the industries. As a result Karnataka, which was in the 13th position in the country, is today  placed first in the country as investments have started flowing in,” she added.

FKCCI Vice-President Sudhakar Shetty, KIADB Development Officer Shivakumar, MCCI President A.S. Satish and others were present.
