Mysuru: Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind had organised a programme titled ‘Prophet Mohammed is the greatest guide for the mankind’ at a private hotel in city recently which also featured a multi-lingual poets meet.
Speaking on the occasion, writer Prof. K.S. Bhagawan said that in Christian, Muslim and Buddhist religions, a common man can perform religious rituals and give a discourse and questioned whether an ordinary Dalit can become a purohit in Hindu religion.
Pointing out that superstitions do exist in all religions, he contended that sticking to only one religion itself is superstitious and that fanatics misguide the society.
Continuing, Bhagawan said that all people irrespective of religion, belong to mankind and everyone should understand that and refrain from disturbing the nation and the world. He opined that every religion should be inspected methodically and a good one to be accepted. He recalled that Buddha, Basavanna and Ambedkar trusted the personal experience instead of looking into Vedas and Upanishads.

The multi-lingual poets meet was inaugurated by Kannada Sahitya Parishat Mysuru President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna.
A book on Prophet Mohammed brought out by Shanti Prakashana was released on the occasion.
Poetess A. Hemaganga, Karnataka Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind Member Akbar Ali, Mysuru Unit Member Syed Ahmed Rahil, retired Professor Abdul Rahman Khan Gauhar and others were present dduring theprogramme.
