Simply putting up a Rs. 1,000 penalty board is not enough…

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has put up a board warning that anyone dumping garbage at the location will be fined Rs. 1,000.
However, despite the warning, people continue to dump garbage there, particularly during night. The situation has become extremely unhygienic and the garbage is left uncleared for long.
The entire stretch has started smelling badly, making it difficult for pedestrians and motorists to pass through the area. Stray dogs also scatter the garbage, making the situation even worse.
What is most concerning is that this dumping spot is located next to a Government School. Children have to walk through this unhygienic area every day, with their shoes coming into contact with the garbage and waste.
This creates a serious concern for cleanliness and the well-being of the children and residents in the surrounding area.
Simply putting up a Rs. 1,000 penalty board is not enough if the rule is not enforced. The authorities should take immediate action against those who dump garbage illegally, ensure regular removal of the accumulated waste and consider measures such as CCTV surveillance or increased monitoring to prevent repeated dumping.
I request the Mysuru City Corporation authorities to take immediate action and restore cleanliness in the area before the situation becomes a bigger public health and sanitation problem.
