Streamline toll collection on KRS Road

Sir,

Tourists visiting the world famous Brindavan Gardens at KRS are at the mercy of the staff of the contractor handling the toll.

Most of the tourists arriving after 7 pm may not be able to enjoy the beauty of the Garden as their entry to Garden will get delayed by more than two hours,  owing to piling up of vehicles at the toll point.

On every weekends and on public holidays, there will be a heavy rush and the length of the queue of the vehicles to enter KRS parking lot extends to  more than 2 kms. The process of issuing ticket takes about two to three minutes per vehicle. There are only two persons having the hand-held ticket issuing machine. This causes  undue delay, resulting in a very slow movement of the vehicles.

During weekends and on other public holidays, there should be more number of persons to issue the tickets. Also, the entrance at the toll gate need to be widened, to have more lanes for the incoming vehicles and to  facilitate fast movement of the vehicles.

Earlier, motorists going to KRS backwaters were paying only the toll and not the Garden parking fee. But now the new contractor is charging parking fee plus toll for the vehicles moving towards KRS backwaters. In spite of telling the person issuing tickets about this, they fleece the motorists moving towards backwaters by charging both Garden parking and toll fee.

I request the authorities concerned to streamline the toll gate collection by instructing  the contractor to employ more number of persons to collect the toll during weekends and on public holidays. And also, the contractor should be instructed not to collect the parking fees when the motorists are going towards KRS backwaters.
