Mysore/Mysuru: A student has reportedly assaulted a lecturer during Graduation Day at a private Engineering College at Hootagalli Industrial Area yesterday and a complaint has been lodged at Hebbal Police Station in this regard.

The student, who assaulted the lecturer is Ajay and the lecturer, who was assaulted is Lokesh. During the Graduation Day celebrations at the College, a few students were making loud noise which was disturbing the event. Lecturer Lokesh, questioned the students, during which wordy duel ensued between them and Ajay removed the metal bangle (Kadaga) he was wearing and allegedly hit the lecturer on his head causing injury, according to Police.

Hebbal Inspector Prasanna said that following a complaint, a case has been registered.
