Student killed as goods vehicle rams into bike

Mysore/Mysuru:  A 26-year-old student was killed, while the pillion rider suffered serious injuries when a goods vehicle rammed into the bike at SJCE Road-Hunsur Road junction yesterday midnight.

The deceased is Supreet Jain, a native of Hassan, who was pursuing Animation course in city and staying in a room at Jayalakshmipuram. The injured pillion rider has been identified as Rakshith, who is undergoing treatment at K.R. Hospital in city.

Yesterday at about 12.30 am, Supreet with Rakshith riding pillion, were proceeding on their bike (KA-13-EM-3012) from SJCE towards Hunsur Road and when they entered Hunsur Road, a goods vehicle (KA-55-7882), coming from B.M. Hospital side, rammed into the bike and dragged it along with Supreet and Rakshith for a distance before coming to a halt.

Supreet, who sustained serious head injuries, was rushed to a private hospital where he succumbed to injuries at about 3.30 am today.

 Rakshith, who too suffered serious injuries is undergoing treatment at K.R. Hospital.

V.V. Puram Traffic Inspector Aruna Kumari and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, seized both the vehicles and registered a case.
