Student killed as Tempo Traveller rams into bicycle

Mysore/Mysuru: A 14-year-old student, who had sustained serious injuries after a Tempo Traveller vehicle rammed into the bicycle he was riding on Bogadi Ring Road on Apr. 18 night and admitted to a private hospital, has breathed his last at the hospital on Apr. 19 morning.

The deceased is M. Harshith, son of P.J. Manju and a resident of Kanakadasa Nagar in city.

On Apr. 18 night, Harshith had gone for swimming and to play badminton. While returning home at about 8.30 pm, Harshith got his bicycle repaired at a cycle shop on Bogadi Ring Road.

But when Harshith entered the Ring Road from the Service Road, a Tempo Traveller (KA-11-B-8981), which came from Bogadi side, rammed into the bicycle resulting in Harshith being flung into air and he crashed into the front windshield of the Tempo Traveller and fell down resulting in him sustaining serious injuries.

Soon after the accident, the Tempo Traveller fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle. He was then rushed to a private hospital by the driver of another vehicle. But Harshith succumbed to injuries the next day at about 1.50 am.

K.R. Traffic Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
