Students and parents inconvenienced as UoM server breaks down

Mysore/Mysuru:  With the server at University of Mysore (UoM) breaking down suddenly, the University students are facing a lot of hardship in payment of fees. The server breakdown has made the students and their parents to curse the University authorities for their gross negligence or apathy.

With the University making it mandatory to pay fees online, the students are left with no choice other than to wait for the server to get back on track.

On Thursday, the students waited for more than four hours to get server connection, but had to return a dejected lot as their long wait turned out to be a waste of time.

Some students claimed that the Commerce Department teaching and non-teaching faculty displayed negligent attitude when they were informed about the server breakdown. Some of the students who had come from Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagar districts had to return back to their towns or villages as the server issue was not addressed by the University.

Expressing anguish over the apathetic attitude of the University authorities, the students and parents wondered what was the guarantee that the server will be functional tomorrow.

Urging the authorities to set right the server immediately and facilitate them for paying fees on time, they questioned how could the University authorities, who boast of technical advancements, are failing in ensuring hassle free and non-disruptive functioning of servers.
