Students killed as bike hits road divider

Mysore/Mysuru: Two students were killed when the bike they were riding rammed into a road divider on SJCE Road (Chaduranga Road) yesterday midnight.

The deceased have been identified as M.N. Harsha (19), son of late C.L. Nagaraj of B. Matageri and N.S. Charan (19), son of Suresh of Noorukuppe, both in H.D. Kote taluk.

Harsha and Charan, who were pursuing their 1st year B.Com course at JSS College on Ooty Road, were staying at Mahaveer Hostel at T.K. Layout in city.

Yesterday at about 12.05 midnight, Harsha and Charan were proceeding on SJCE Road towards Hunsur Road on their KTM bike, when they rammed into a road divider near a bakery on SJCE Road, close to Hunsur Road junction. Due to the impact, both of them fell from the bike and were dragged along with the bike for  about 100 metres.

VV Puram Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, shifted them to K.R. Hospital, where the doctors, who examined them, declared them brought dead.

The bodies were shifted to MMC&RI mortuary where post-mortem was conducted this morning and the bodies were handed over to their  family members.

VV Puram Traffic Police have registered a case.
