Students sensitised on “Emergency Number 112”

Sarada Vilas College Anti-Ragging Cell fetes SI Mahesh

Mysore/Mysuru: The Anti-Ragging Cell of Sarada Vilas College, Mysuru, conducted a seminar on “What is one Emergency Number 112” at Sri Venkatakrishnaiah Auditorium of Sarada Vilas Law College here on Feb.1.

Mahesh, Sub-Inspector, Mysuru District Police Control Room, who was the resource person, created awareness among students on various crimes that are increasing in society such as internet ragging, mobile frauds, theft, etc. and how the Police Department is successful in controlling the crimes by using the Emergency Number 112. He also cited a few real cases dealt by them.

Explaining the consequences one must face when indulged in ragging, he shared some examples of what one goes through mentally as well as physically if ragged.

He informed that there are nearly 120 Police Officers working day and night under Emergency Service 112 monitoring the location of the person in distress/danger and to provide safety to women, children and also in case of fire accident, medical emergency and to reach  out to the people who have lost track of their location. He also shared information about how to use Karnataka State Police App.
