Students take out Heart Day rally

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep flagged off an awareness rally in front of JSS Hospital on M.G. Road here this morning marking World Heart Day.

The rally, in which more than 400 students and staff of JSS Educational Institutions took part, passed through Ramanuja Road, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Circle, CADA Office Road, Sayyaji Rao Road, Agrahara Circle and M.G. Road, before returning to the starting point.

The rallyists held placards that carried messages such as ‘Quit smoking & alcohol,’ ‘Avoid unhealthy fats,’ ‘Eat little, eat healthy,’ ‘High BP leads to stroke and heart attack,’ ‘Avoid stress and obesity.’

JSS Hospital Director Dr. M.D. Ravi, Medical Superintendent Dr. Guruswamy, CAO Dr. Basavaraj Kuppasad and others were present during the rally.

Another rally tomorrow

Marking World Heart Day, the Indian Cardiological Society too has organised an awareness rally in city at 4 pm tomorrow.

City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao will flag off the rally from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple to culminate at MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall in J.K. Grounds, where a stage programme will take place.

Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, Andolana Editor Rajashekar Koti and others will take part, according to the Society’s Mysuru Chapter President Dr. Rajagopal.
