Students take out rally to observe Crime Prevention Month

Mysuru:  Hundreds of students of Government High School, Vinayakanagar and teachers took out a Crime Prevention Month Public Awareness Jatha on main streets of their area coming under Jayalakshmipuram Police Station limits in city yesterday.

They distributed posters and handbills spreading the message and sensitising the public to follow traffic rules, law and order besides to cross the road after green signal, stop over- speeding and other traffic violations to prevent road mishaps.

Speaking after kicking off the rally, Jayalakshmipuram Police Station Inspector Prakash wanted the public to cooperate with the Police to track theft, burglary as well as to prevent crime, maintain law and order.  He called upon the residents to inform the Police if they were leaving for outstation for long after locking their house. At least, they should inform their neighbours as such measures would help Police to prevent burglaries. He advised women to cover their gold ornaments with their saree pallu or dupatta while  going outside home to prevent chain-snatching.

School HM T.J. Anand, Teachers Hemalatha, B. Renuka, Bhavya, Sheela, Manjula, M. Rajamma and Cops were present.
