Mysuru: Urging the State Government to issue order to provide free bus passes to every student, hundreds of students under the banner of All India  Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO), All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) and All India Mahila Samskritik Sanghatan (AIMSS) will stage a State-wide agitation on June 19, said AIDSO District President Basavaraju.

Disclosing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, he said that the academic year had commenced and lakhs of students in the State were waiting for the free bus pass.

Continuing, he said that the previous Congress Government had announced free bus passes to the students in the budget besides reserving Rs. 836.98 crore grant for it and alleged that the present Congress-JD(S) coalition Government were not taking any initiative to provide free bus passes to the students, thus putting the students into a lot of hardship. AIDSO Secretary Chandrakala, AIDYO Joint Secretary S. Suma and others were present at the press meet.
