Sulwadi Maramma Temple Poisoning Case: Court defers hearing to Aug.5

Chamarajanagar: The Chamarajanagar Principal District and Sessions Court, yesterday deferred the hearing of the Sulwadi Maramma Temple Poisoning Case to Aug.5.

As the judicial custody of the four accused — Immadi Mahadevaswamy, Madesh, Ambika and Doddaiah — ended yesterday, they were taken from Mysore Central Prison to the Court under tight Police security and were produced before the Judge.

Judge G. Basavaraju, who took up the case, asked prime accused Immadi Mahadevaswamy whether his advocate was present at the Court, to which Mahadevaswamy said that the advocate appointed earlier had not come but a new advocate has come.

Advocate P.M. Vishwanath, who was present at the Court, told the Judge that he would represent Immadi Mahadevaswamy and requested time to present his argument.

Meanwhile, Judge Basavaraju asked other accused Ambika, Madesh and Doddaiah whether their advocate had come to which they said that their advocate was not keeping well and was not present at the Court.

Later, Judge Basavaraju deferred the hearing to Aug.5.

All the four accused were brought back to Mysore Prison under Police security.
