Sunil Bose appears before Court; hearing adjourned to Mar. 6

Sunil Bose, son of PWD  and District Incharge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, appeared before the Third Additional District and Sessions Court this morning in connection with a graft case.

Bose and his friend Raju were accused by Alphonsus, a senior Geologist  of Mines and Geology Department of forcing him to accept a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh in connection with illegal transportation of sand.

While Alphonsus is the first accused, Bose is the second accused and Bose’s associate Raju is the third accused.

As soon as the hearing in the case began this morning, Alphonsus and Bose appeared before the court along with their advocates while the third accused Raju’s lawyer submitted a petition seeking exemption for the appearance of Raju on medical grounds. Raju’s lawyer submitted a medical certificate in support of his petition.

However, Judge S. Sudheendranath rejected Raju’s fresh petition seeking exemption from appearance while also slamming Raju’s lawyer for the petition. Judge Sudheendranath later adjourned the hearing to March 6, 2017, asking all the three accused to be compulsorily present on that day.
