Supporters, fans raise slogans for not arranging a hearse

Mysore/Mysuru: Irked over not arranging a special vehicle (hearse) to carry the mortal remains of KPCC Working President R. Dhruvanarayan in a procession, supporters and fans of the late leader raised slogans against Opposition Leader Siddharamaiah and KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar.

A large number of supporters of Dhruvanarayan who had gathered outside the house of Dhruvanarayan at Vijayanagar 3rd Stage in city yesterday, were upset over not arranging any special vehicle to take the mortal remains in a procession from the house to the party office — Indira Congress Bhavan, near City Railway Station.

A small ambulance had been arranged, upon seeing it, the supporters of Dhruvanarayan lost their cool and vented their anguish against Congress leaders. When Siddharamaiah and D.K. Shivakumar arrived on the spot, they raised slogans against them also. Siddharamaiah tried to pacify them but in vain.

Later, H.D. Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu arranged a hearse from Bengaluru, in which the mortal remains were taken in a procession from the house to Congress Office, through Ashokapuram Main Road, JLB Road and Nanjangud Road towards Chamarajanagar.
