Surabhi students to sing “Nottu swaras of  Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar”

Surabhi  Ganakala  Mandira will be presenting  a special  programme  on  “Nottu swaras of  Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar”  on July 30 at 5.30 pm  at   Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar. All  37 Nottu swaras (a special  variety  of musical composition which  resembles  Western  music)  composed by Dikshitar in the raga Shankarabharanam  will be sung in groups by about  70 students of Surabhi, directed  by  Vidu. Meera Manjunath, a senior  disciple of  Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar.    Vidu. Raajalakshmi  Shridhar (Retd. Programme Executive,  AIR, Mysore)  will   be  the guest  of  honour.
