Suttur Seer expresses deep regrets

Mysore/Mysuru: Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji has expressed his deep regrets over the murder of Jain Seer Sri Kamakumar Nandi Maharaj of Nandi Parvat Ashram at Hirekodi in Belagavi district.

Suttur Seer has said: “It is a shocking incident as Kamakumar Nandi Maharaj had to meet his gory end at the hands of those in his close quarters, after leading 25 years of his life as a Saint. It is regrettable that a mindset is being developed to kill the Seers who have been preaching and practicing non-violence.”

The Government should conduct a detailed probe into the incident and take suitable action against those involved in the case, so that such incidents do not recur in the future. If the situation warrants, suitable bandobast should be provided to create a conducive environment to live peacefully in the State.

“I am with the Jain community in their time of grief and pray for the soul of the deceased. I pray the almighty to give strength to the followers of the Seer to bear the loss,” added Suttur Seer.
