Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its Webinar Series on “Amazing Abilities of Unstoppable Achievers,” Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), Mysuru, will feature achiever Adithi Varma in its 12th webinar on Dec.16 between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm.
Aditi has not allowed Down’s Syndrome to affect her. She runs Aditi’s Corner snack junction in addition to living life with a purpose and joy. She has also presented a paper at the First Indian International Down Syndrome Conference-2017 at Delhi about “Journey Towards Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual and Development Disabilities in India.”
SVYM started working for the specially-abled persons from 1996 and is currently running a Comprehensive Care, Support, and Treatment for Persons with Disabilities’ (CCST-PWDs), an Institution and Community-based rehabilitation programme focusing on all 21 types of disabilities in Mysuru and Kodagu districts in collaboration with community, various Government Departments and like-minded NGOs/ Corporates. Around 22 lakh population are sensitised so far and nearly 40,000 PWDs are directly benefited.
Of the several issues that People with Disability face include accessibility, choice of leading a barrier-free life and inclusion. This webinar is an attempt to bring some of these “celebrities” onto a platform where they can share their journey. For details contact Mob: 95900-91177.
