SVYM’s Guru Manthan Lecture Series

Dr. K. Kasturirangan to virtually address teachers on Sept. 5

Mysore/Mysuru: Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), through its training and consultancy programmes, has been constantly working on building the capacities of teachers and schools to be able to offer inclusive and equitable quality education.

SVYM started Guru Manthan in 2019 to celebrate the best classroom practices of teachers and create a platform for educationists to share, discuss & debate ideas and practices from across the world.

Guru Manthan 2020-2021 has been expanded to include 50 lectures and discussions — one every Saturday from Aug. 1. These lectures are conducted online and free for all teachers and general public to attend.

Dr. Gururaj Karajagi, Prof. M.K. Sridhar, T.S. Krishnamurthy, Anurag Behar and Dr. Akanksha Bapna have delivered the lectures so far on diverse topics from the role of teachers during the COVID outbreak to unpacking 21st century skills in our schools.

As part of the series, Dr. K. Kasturirangan, former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Chairman, Drafting Committee of the National Education Policy (NEP), will be addressing teachers on Teachers’ Day (Sept. 5) from 11 am to 12 noon. His talk, titled ‘Teacher – The Heart of the Matter,’ shall be followed by an interactive session with teachers.

Schools can register and beam this lecture live in their campuses for teachers [Zoom Meeting ID: 874 1390 2094, Passcode: v-lead].

Teachers are also encouraged to send their questions via e-mail (praveen@svym.org.in) or WhatsApp [95919-45162) before Sept. 3. Selected teachers will be given an opportunity to directly ask questions.
