Mysore/Mysuru: The 164th Jayanti of Swami Vivekananda will be celebrated on Jan. 10 at Sri Ramakrishna (RK) Ashram premises in Yadavagiri as follows:

5.15 am: Vedic Chanting; 5.30 am: Mangalarati and Bhajans; 7.30 am: Special Puja; 8 am: Shivasahasranama Parayana; 9 am: Bhajans; 10.30 am:  Reading; 10.45 am: Aarti; 11 am: Homa; 12 noon: Prasad distribution; 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm: Bhajans by Sri Sharada Samvit Bhajana Mandali; 6 pm to 6.50 pm: Discourse in Kannada on ‘Swami Vivekananda’; 7 pm to 8 pm: Aarti and Special Bhajans.

National Youth Day

Swami Vivekananda was born on Jan. 12, 1863, according to the Gregorian calendar. In 1984, Government of India decided to celebrate Jan. 12 every year as National Youth Day all over India.

Accordingly, on Jan. 12 at 3 pm, after garlanding Swami’s statue at Cheluvamba Park in Yadavagiri, a procession will start and culminate at the RK Vidyashala campus followed by a stage programme.
