Mysore/Mysuru: The Swaralaya Sangeetha Samsthe, Ramakrishnanagar, in association with Kannada and Culture Department, Bengaluru, held its annual ‘Swaralaya Samskrutika Habba-2023’, a day-long cultural festival, at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar recently.
Speaking after inaugurating the fest, Kaladeepti Vidwan Dr. H.S. Tandavamurthy said it is laudable that Swaralaya has dedicated itself to classical music for the past 33 years.
Noting that apart from classical music, Swaralaya also teaches devotional songs, he said he was happy to have inaugurated the fest. Stating that he used to attend the fest as one among audience in the past, Vid. Tandavamurthy wished that the Samsthe grows to greater heights.
Music teacher Vidwan Rao R. Sharath, who was the chief guest, said that Swaralaya has seen 33 years of fruitful existence. Pointing out that the Swaralaya President Vidushi Dr. Suma Harinath started learning music as a child, he said that the Samsthe has been teaching music to all sections of the society and to people from all ages.
Vidushi Dr. Suma Harinath thanked the Kannada and Culture Department and all others for their co-operation and support all these years.
Swaralaya student K.M. Ramya presented Daasara Gayana. She was accompanied by Vid. C. Chetan on violin and Vid. V. Shyam on mridanga. Later, students of Hebbal’s Nada-vidyalaya Academy of Music and Dance presented an enthralling Bharatanatyam performance.
Earlier, Bhanu Nischal rendered the invocation. Swaralaya Secretary H.S. Srikanthamani welcomed.
