Mysore/Mysuru: City-based Swaralaya, in association with Department of Kannada and Culture, Bengaluru, had organised Cultural Festival-2024, as part of its 34th anniversary at Veene Seshanna Bhavan here recently.
The event was inaugurated by Vidushi Lalitha. Vidu. Subbalakshmi presided. Vidu. Vijayalakshmi was the special guest.
Speaking after inaugurating, Vidu. Lalitha said that Swaralaya means Temple of Swaras and explained why children should learn music and practice them and how music helps students in their education.
Subbalakshmi emphasised the significance of dance-music and advised parents to engage their children in these art forms.
Vijayalakshmi commended Swaralaya for its music related activities for 34 years.
Founder-President of Naadavidyalaya Vid. M.S. Naveen Andagar was feted with ‘Gana Kala Chatura’ title. Accepting the felicitations, he advised children to learn music, dance and other art forms instead of spending time on their mobile phones.
Sri Sharada Nritya Kalashala led by Natya Vidwan V. Mahesh presented a dance. Sukruti rendered ‘Daasara Pada’ accompanied by Vid. M.R. Srikant on violin and Vid. M.R. Udayakumar on mridanga.
