Kids must undergo health check: MP Yaduveer Wadiyar
Mysore/Mysuru: To boost the health of women and children, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, inaugurated ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ at Seth Mohandas Tulsidas (SMT) Mother and Child Hospital on JLB road in city recently.
Department of Health and Family Welfare has organised this abhiyaan (campaign) under National Health Mission till Oct. 2.
Yaduveer Wadiyar said, by undergoing health check-up at the camp, every citizen should join hands in building a healthy and strong society. The campaign organised especially in the interest of women and children should be successful, so that the initiative majorly contributes to the country’s progress.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. P.C. Kumaraswamy said, at the camp women can undergo tests related to ears, eyes, nose, tongue, blood pressure, diabetes and dental, along with mouth, breast and ovarian cancer. For pregnant women, pre-delivery test will be conducted, followed by vaccination, tests for anaemia, tuberculosis, sickle cell and blood loss.
Dr. Mallika, Divisional Director of Health and Family Welfare Department, Mysuru, District RCH Officer Dr. Mohammed Shiraz Ahmed, District Controller of Vector Borne Diseases, Dr. Suvarna, District Leprosy Control Officer Dr. Brinda, Taluk Health Officer Dr. Puttathayamma, State-level Officer Dr. Raju and Administrative Officer of SMT Hospital Dr. Anuradha were present.
