SWR Mysuru Division launches Swachhta Pakhwada

Mysuru:  The Mysuru Division of South Western Railway (SWR) is observing ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ Pakhwada (fortnight) across the Division from Sept.15 to Oct.2 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Aparna Garg, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), SWR, Mysuru, launched the programmed by administering the Swachhta Pledge to officers and staff present at Mysuru Railway Station on Sept.15. She called upon staff at all levels to give their best performance and in the most effective way during the observance of the Pakhwada for making it a very successful campaign.

Special focus will be on cleanliness at railway stations and onboard trains with substantial involvement of staff on all the days of the campaign where different themes on cleanliness had been selected such as Swachchta dialogue with rail-users involving NGOs, swachh stations/ trains, community day for anti-littering campaigns seeking co-operation of public/ other stakeholders, clean work place, clean environment, clean food and water, clean toilets as also inter-division competitions, she added.

The DRM stated that intensive awareness campaign using social media platforms, street plays, audio/ video clips to motivate & involve passengers, students & others are part of the programme during the fortnight. Feedback provided by passengers on the ways to promote cleanliness at stations/ onboard trains will be reviewed for initiating action wherever necessary, she added.
