SWR to increase coaches in Mysuru-Talaguppa train

Mysuru: The South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to increase the number of coaches in Mysuru-Talaguppa-Mysuru train.  At a meeting with the officials of SWR in Shivamogga recently, Shivamogga MP B.Y. Raghavendra requested for enhancement of the number   of coaches. 

At present, the Mysuru-Talaguppa-Mysuru train (16227/28) is running with 11 sleeper coaches. Acting on the request, it has been decided to attach two additional sleeper coaches to the train from today (Aug. 26). Also, sanction has been given for the establishment of a new coaching terminal near Kotegangur. 

MP Raghavendra, Rajesh Agarwal, member, Rolling Stock of Railway Board, Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, SWR and Aparna Garg, Divisional  Railway Manager, visited Kotegangur and inspected the spot where the proposed infrastructure would come up. 

Speaking on the occasion, Raghavendra said that in the wake of the sanctioning of survey work on the proposed Shivamogga-Harihar and Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur Railway lines, works related to upgradation of Railway infrastructure in the region should be taken up to facilitate plying of additional trains in future.
