SWR Women’s Welfare Organisation presents Annual Awards

Mysuru: An Annual Awards function was conducted by South Western Railway Women’s Organisation (SWRWWO)  at Railway Officer’s Club, Hubballi, recently. The chief guest for the event was A.K. Gupta, General Manager of South Western Railway.

Merit Scholarship Certificates along with cash prizes amounting to Rs. 1,86,500 were distributed to 72 children of Railway employees of both Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’, who have secured 85% and above in SSLC and 80% or more  in other courses. Besides, prizes were distributed to winners of drawing, painting and essay writing competitions.

Congratulating the awardees, A.K. Gupta said that the award function is to recognise the talents of the meritorious children which will motivate more and more wards to achieve better results year after year.  

Speaking on the occasion, Deepali Gupta, President of SWRWWO, said that more and more children should be trained and encouraged to participate in competitions to achieve the best results. Importance should be given to extracurricular activities also.   This will indeed help them to boost the inner talent hidden in them. She also stressed on the need for maintaining cleanliness to lead a healthy life.
