Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru Division of South Western Railway (SWR) has commissioned the New Generation Passenger Reservation System (PRS) at the Advance Ticket Reservation Counter in Kuvempunagar.
This achievement marks a significant milestone, as Kuvempunagar becomes the first Non-Rail Head (NRH) location in Indian Railways to operate the Advanced Passenger Operating System (APOS) based PRS through a static IP over the internet.
The newly commissioned system is designed to enhance passenger convenience by providing faster, reliable and seamless reservation services.
The integration of UPI-enabled payment options facilitates cashless transactions, ensuring a modern, secure and user-friendly ticketing experience for passengers.
With this initiative, SWR Mysuru Division continues its commitment towards digital transformation and improved customer service by extending advanced railway reservation facilities beyond traditional Railway Station premises.
Passengers can now avail themselves of efficient and hassle-free ticket booking services at Kuvempunagar, reducing dependence on station-based counters and promoting ease of access within the city, stated a press release from Girish Dharmaraj Kalagonda, Divisional Commercial Manager & Public Relations Officer, SWR Mysuru Division.
