Sy. No. 4 residents urge MLA, CM to resolve ‘B-Kharab’ issue

Mysuru: The members of Siddarthanagar Shoshithara Sangha have urged KR Constituency MLA S.A. Ramdas and Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa to take steps to remove the ‘B-Kharab’ classification of Survey No. 4 in which areas such as Siddarthanagar, K.C. Nagar and J.C. Nagar are located. Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, Sangha member H.R. Manjunath said that the above areas in Survey No. 4 at the foot of Chamundi Hill which was formed by the Government was given ‘B-Kharab’ status about five years back causing a lot of problems to the residents of these layouts.

Due to ‘B-Kharab’ status, the residents and property owners in these Layouts could not do any property transactions,  Manjunath said. Saying that the residents were relentlessly fighting to get the land out of ‘B-Kharab’ classification, he added that the State Government has not yet come up with a solution to end the stalemate.

Manjunath further said that the then MLA M.K. Somashekar had brought the issue to the notice of the then CM Siddharamaiah and the issue was put forth in the Cabinet meeting where it was decided to remove the ‘B-Kharab’ classification and an order was also passed in this regard.

Continuing, he said that though two years have gone by since the order was passed, no steps have been taken till date to remove the ‘B-Kharab’ classification and even the previous coalition Government too did not solve the issue, he alleged.

He urged MLA Ramdas and CM Yediyurappa to come to their rescue and get the ‘B-Kharab’ classification removed in 15 days failing which he threatened of launching protests.

Sangha President Vijay Prasad, Members Dayanand, Chengappa, N.S. Umesh, Natesh Kumar and others were present at the press meet.
