Bengaluru: Former Minister T.B. Jayachandra is the Congress candidate for the by-election to Sira Assembly Constituency to be held later. The by-election is necessitated due to the death of sitting MLA B. Sathyanarayana of Janata Dal (Secular) recently.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting here this morning, KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar said all leaders have unanimously selected Jayachandra as the party candidate and only his name will be sent to the High Command for approval.

“Former MLA of Madhugiri, K.N. Rajanna has suggested the name of Jayachandra for by-polls and the same is seconded by us. The election will be fought under the leadership of former KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwar and Rajanna. All leaders will work united for victory of our official candidate,” he said.
