Tahsildar has powers to conduct land survey: HC

Bengaluru: Putting to rest the confusions over the authority to conduct land survey, the Karnataka High Court (HC) on Thursday ruled that Tahsildars have the power to conduct land survey in Municipal Corporation limits as per the provisions of Section 140(2) of The Karnataka Land Revenue Act.

A Divisional Bench of the HC comprising Justices Alok Aradhe and S. Vishwajit Shetty, while disposing of a petition filed by Sunil of Bengaluru, held that the Tahsildar has powers to draw the boundary of a survey  number coming under Municipal limits.
