Mysuru: With the GP polls scheduled to take place on Dec. 22 and 27 in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rohini Sindhuri has directed the Tahsildars to take the responsibility of supplying food to all poll staff in their respective taluks.

In a circular issued a couple of days ago, the DC said that polling in Hunsur, Periyapatna, K.R. Nagar, H.D. Kote and Saragur taluks will take place on Dec.22 and in Mysuru, T. Narasipur and Nanjangud taluks on Dec. 27. 

On the day of mustering (the night before polling day) and the polling day (morning breakfast and lunch), the Tahsildars should see to it that all polling staff, Health and Police Department personnel on poll duty in their respective taluk are supplied quality food and drinking water. Action will be taken as per Section 31 of Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Rules- 1993, against Tahsildars                     and other officials if they fail in their responsibility, the circular said.
