Mysore/Mysuru: Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre, had organised a talent award programme at the MBCT Auditorium on Akkamahadevi Road in city recently to honour 50 exceptionally talented children of construction workers with Pratibha Puraskar.
Vijayakumar, BRP at the BRC Centre in Mysore South Zone, who inaugurated the programme, shared numerous success stories with the students, advised them to study hard and lead a contented life. He also acknowledged the responsibility of parents and praised BAI for organising such a programme.
Nagaraj V. Bairy, Chairman of BAI, Mysore, who presided said that BAI, in collaboration with Mysore Builders Charitable Trust (MBCT) and Spoorthi, an all-women team, undertakes various labour welfare programmes annually. These include health card distribution for construction workers, health check-up camps, May Day celebrations, masons training programmes and talent award programme for meritorious students who are children of construction workers.
A total of fifty children of construction workers, who excelled in their SSLC and PUC exams, were awarded. Notably, 27 students passed SSLC and 23 students passed PUC, with 34 of the fifty students being girls.
Sinchana, daughter of a painter, scored 97 percent. Additionally, more than 15 students scored above 90 percent and over 25 students secured more than 80 percent marks.
MBCT Treasurer Subrahmanya Rao, Spoorthi Women’s Wing President Rekha Yoganarasimha, BAI Secretary K.S. Balaji and others were present.
