Cricket is a very popular game in our country and many youngsters have taken up cricket as their career. Mysuru also has its share of producing talented cricketers who have gone on to represent the State and the country. Mysuru Warriors’ all-rounder N.P. Bhareth impressed everyone with his performance in the ongoing KPL. He is our ‘Star This Week.’
A medium-pace bowler and a middle-order batsman, Bhareth scored a valuable 32-ball 52 for Mysuru Warriors against Hubli Tigers which proved to be a match-winning knock. Batting first, Hubli Tigers scored 154 for seven in 20 overs, with Mayank Agarwal (68) being the top-scorer.
In reply, Mysuru Warriors scored 156 for seven in 19.4 overs and registered a thrilling three-wicket win. Mysuru lad S.P. Manjunath scored huge six in the final over and helped his team to register a important win. Needing 155 to win, Mysuru Warriors did not start well. They lost Karun Nair (15), K.C. Avinash (1) and Suneel Raju (11) early.
Arjun Hoysala and Bhareth batted well and in the 13th over, scored 21-runs off Praveen Dubey’s over, which had two sixes and two fours. The target was reduced to 54 from 42 balls and Bhareth’s valuable knock of 52 runs in 32 balls paved way for a Mysuru Warriors win. Bhareth was adjudged ‘Man of the Match.’
Hope Bhareth continues to bowl and bat well and help Mysuru Warriors team clinch the coveted title in this edition of the KPL.
