Golf is played and patronised in Mysuru at Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Course and the JWGC has played a big part in producing talented golfers from time to time with their development programmes. One such product of their Junior prog. is Vidhatri K. Urs, who represented Karnataka in IGU YES Bank All India Junior Golf Championship-2017 held at Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Chembur, recently and won the category ‘C’ girls title. Vidhatri, after three days of the Tourney, tied with Nishna Patel of Maharashtra and in resulting play-off won the Category ‘C’ title in the girls section.
Both the players returned with a three-day aggregate score of 231 and the winner was decided in the play off. Vidhatri had a three-day card of 75+78+78=231.
This is Vidhati’s maiden title in the National-level.
Earlier, Vidhatri, representing Karnataka in IGU Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championships 2017-18 at Chandigarh Golf Course from Oct.3 to 6, finished second in the Category ‘C’ section with a three-day aggregate score of 244 (80+83+81).
Haryana’s Hunar Mittal secured first place with a three-day aggregate score of 232 (81+77+74), while Chandigarh’s Puneet K. Bajwa secured third place with a three-day card of 248 (79+83+86).
Vidhatri, a sixth standard student of National Public School, Mysuru, is the daughter of Kantharaj Urs and Ramya Urs, residents of Lakshmipuram in Mysuru.
Vidhatri has been making steady progress in the last couple of years and intends to train hard for her future tournaments and fare well in the National Junior Circuit.
