Tennis is a global sport and Mysuru has been producing talented tennis players from time to time who have gone on to represent the country in different levels. Mysuru lad D.H. Prashanth, a hearing impaired tennis player, has shown that disability in any form does not come in the way of achieving set goals in life, and he has gone on to represent India in the International level. A product of Mysore Tennis Club, Prashanth is currently representing India in the Deaf World Tennis Championship-2018 which began at Antalaya, Turkey, from Saturday. He is our ‘Star This Week.’
This is the third time Prashanth is representing India in the international level. In the ongoing tournament at Antalya, Turkey, in the first Group ‘B’ game on Saturday, Germany beat India 2-1. In the first Singles, German’s Urs Breitenberger beat D.H. Prashanth 6-0, 6-1. In the second Singles, Sebastian Schaffer lost to India’s Prithvi Shekar

Earlier in 2013, Prashanth had represented India in the Deaflympics in Sofia where India secured 5th place. In 2014, he represented India in World Deaf Tennis Championship.
Prashanth has represented Mysuru district tennis team four times in the State-level Dasara Games and won laurels for the district. He also represented Karnataka in the 20th National Games.
Prashanth is a experienced player and has been a senior player in the district and has been involved in coaching youngsters at the Mysore Tennis Club from time to time.
