Talk on Cancer in India on June 6

Mysuru: Dr. Girish Chinnaswamy, Professor and HoD, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, will be delivering a talk on ‘Cancer in India – Enormous Challenges’ on Thursday (June 6) at 6 pm at Kalpa Kshetra Auditorium, 581/1, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 1st Phase, Mysuru (Mob:9449819536).

Dr. Girish, who is from Mysuru, has specialised in Paediatric Oncology, having studied at the Northern Institute of Cancer Research, Newcastle University, UK. After working in Christian Medical College Hospital in Vellore, he joined Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and is currently the Head of the Paediatric Oncology Department.

Amongst various diseases afflicting the human race, cancer is a big threat globally. India, where one fifth of the world population resides, has a very large number of cancer patients in the world.

At this programme organised by Mysore Open Forum, Dr. Girish will talk on the problems and methods to be adopted in countering this grave threat to Indian populace.
